12:00PM: Lagniappe Lecture- Virtual Classroom Coordinator Chrissy Gregg explores illustrator Norman Rockwell’s depiction of American life during the 1930s and 40s. gregg goes intot he American artist’s major works, broad popular appeal, and critical analysis from the art world. Commemorate the anniversary of this master’s death (yesterday) today (National WWII Museum)

6:00PM: Keith Sonnier- A pioneer in light sculpture, Keith Sonneir comes to NOMA to orally preview his Fluorescent Room, an arrangement of different sized foam rubber blocks covered with green and orange fluorescent powder in a black light-lit space. T his  multi-sensory experience explores light reflection, and interactive audience participation. But Sonnier can explain it better than we can (NOMA)

7:30PM: Circumstance- Iranian-American fimmaker Maryam Keshavarz embarks on a bold (and unauthorized) attempt to portray the underground lifestyles of homosexuality in the Middle East. Circumstance tells the story of two Iranian women find themselves attracted to each other, and struggle with this sexual curiosity under the pressures of such religious and cultural repression that exist in their country. The flick plays all week at Zeitgeist, but is up and gone thereafter. Take that, Ahmadinejad (Zeitgeist)

10:00PM: Lots of Bands- The Allways is bringing it: The Urban Voo Doo Machine  performs with a massive bill of accompaniment: Maddie Ruthless, Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship, and Vic Ruggiero, perform, with a Burlesque cherry to top it off. $6 (Allways Lounge)
