Today, the New Orleans Book Fair will host a Drunken Spelling Bee, Blondie will perform at Mahalia Jackson Theater, and The Rap Game will set off the Allways Lounge. 7:00PM: Drunken Spelling Bee- The New Orleans Book Fair is not far away, and fundraising initiatives are in the works. Various forms of getting cheddar are at play, but tonight’s Spelling Bee is how you can play your part;  pay $5 to enter the competition, or attend free of charge for entertainment value alone. Those who dress up like a bee get a free misspell advantage, so get into it. These bees start on time, so don’t be t-a-r-d-y, tardy (Hi-Ho Lounge)

8:00PM: Blondie- Debbie Harry at Mahalia Jackson, looking and sounding better than ever, and sure to please the crowd with all the classic favorites. Her latest "Panic of Girls" tour brings together original band members Clem Burke and Chris Stein with newer additions Leigh Foxx, Tommy Kessler, and Matt Katz-Bohen, who keep the Punk/New Wave scene of 1970s NYC alive (Mahalia Jackson Theater)

10:30PM: OhNoCo Presents: The Rap Game- Spellers go head to head at Hi-Ho, while spitters go at it across the way; beginner lyricists practice the rap game in front of an audience by writing 8-line rhymes on the spot, and perform alongside psychedlic hip-hop band PRICEY, who are providing live beats for the competition. This evening’s winner gets a $25 bar tap, so you know it’s serious (Allways Lounge)
